Up, Down and All Around - 9 Brilliant Outdoor Ads

Everywhere you look, you are surrounded by advertising. So, being inundated with advertising what would make you stop and pay attention to an ad? If you are on the streets, something witty and playful may do the trick.

Here are my picks for some of the most brilliant street ads I've seen lately:

1. Shopping Curitaba: Barcode - Brazil

To advertise a shopping mall, what better way then turning into the crosswalk into a barcode?

2. Bin Your Butts - Australia

This campaign was used to kick off the smoking ban in Victoria, Australia. It is helping to show how unhealthy smoking is and to promote cleanliness, a group literally collected all of the cigarette butts in a given area and displayed them.

3. Wet Paint - Sweden

Need a new suit? A very creative way to promote the sale of men's suits.

4. Mr. Clean - Italy

To show how effective Mr. Clean cleaning supplies are, the brand is displaying one line of a crosswalk a brighter and cleaner white than the rest.

5. Canon

Right on the sidewalk, Canon placed stickers of the camera and then had the lights already in place represent the lens.

6. For the Love of Football - United Kingdom

Or soccer as we call it in the United States. This large ball smashing an actual car was left in the parking lot to promote Nike.

7. Reynolds Wrap - United States

Instead of closing up shop each night with your regular gates, bars, etc., why not use it as a perfect opportunity to advertise for your favorite tin foil?

8. Folgers - New York, US

We all knew there was some purpose for those most often disgusting man holes in New York City.

9. Lego Construction Site - United States

To advertise the launch of the construction series of toys.

What do you think? Any of them your favorite? Which is really the most imaginative? Know of any other great outdoor advertising?

there is no "curitaba"

The first ad is for a mall in onde of the 5 biggest cities in brazil, CURITIBA. there is no Curitaba.

it may seems the same to you but it sounds extremelly bad for those who know it.

Its like saying Les Angelos or New Yark.
