Modern Marvels Invent NowModern Marvels Invent NowThe Modern Marvels Invent Now® Challenge is a contest that invites the independent inventor to share his or her vision and ingenious design with the world.

The most remarkable invention submitted will be named the 2007 "Modern Marvel of the Year." The Challenge celebrates American ingenuity and provides a unique national forum for the independent inventor.

The deadline for submitting an invention idea is November 20, 2006, 11:59:59 PM (PST).

Twenty-five (25) Semi-Finalists and one hundred entrants (100) worthy of honorable mention will be chosen. A representative from the National Inventors Hall of Fame will contact all Semi-Finalist around the middle of January to inform them that they have been selected as a Semi-Finalist.

Here's the break down of the prizes:

  • Semi-Finalists (25) : 25 Semi-Finalists will have their invention ideas included at a national exhibition that will travel to pre-eminent science museums and a 5-day/5-night trip to New York City for the final event to attend the Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge exhibition, awards ceremony and a conference led by industry experts. Includes airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation to/from airport/hotel and one group dinner. Additional prizes may be awarded by the Challenge's promotional partners.
  • Grand Prize (1): The "2007 Modern Marvel of the Year" winner will receive, in addition to the Semi-Finalists prize package, a $25,000 grant toward making their invention idea a reality, a one-on-one consultation with an invention expert, his/her invention idea and story featured during Modern Marvels: Great Inventions Week on The History Channel in May 2007.
  • First Prize (1): The First Prize winner will be selected from the 25 Semi-Finalists, and will receive, in addition to the Semi-Finalists prize package, a $10,000 grant, a one-on-one consultation with an invention expert, his/her invention idea and story featured during Modern Marvels: Great Inventions Week on The History Channel in May 2007.
  • Second Prize (1): The Second Prize winner will be selected from the 25 Semi-Finalists, and will receive, in addition to the Semi-Finalists prize package, a $5,000 grant, a one-on-one consultation with an invention expert, his/her invention idea and story featured during Modern Marvels: Great Inventions Week on The History Channel in May 2007.
  • Third Prize (1): The Third Prize winner will be selected from the 25 Semi-Finalists, and will receive, in addition to the Semi-Finalists prize package, a $2,500 grant, a one-on-one consultation with an invention expert, his/her invention idea and story featured during Modern Marvels: Great Inventions Week on The History Channel in May 2007.
  • Fourth Prize (1): The Fourth Prize winner will be selected from the 25 Semi-Finalists, and will receive, in addition to the Semi-Finalists prize package, a $1,000 grant, a one-on-one consultation with an invention expert, his/her invention idea and story featured during Modern Marvels: Great Inventions Week on The History Channel in May 2007.

In order to be eligible to participate, you must either have a patent on your submission or have filed a patent application or a provisional patent application.
