Levi Van Veluw is an emerging young talent in the Netherlands. His photos are self portraits which are drawn and photographed all by himself in which he modifies his face as an object. These are not meant to be portraits, instead they are "an information-rich image of colour, form, texture, and content."
Gravel
His work has been featured across Europe and the United States. He was even given the Photographer of the Year award at the IPA International Photo Awards. On coming up with each idea he says on his site, “I sit in front of a mirror with several objects and ideas. That day, the process takes shape, and slowly I create a new object I find interesting.”

His latest work is called "Landscapes", which is a 4-piece series, uses plots of grass, clusters of trees and babbling brooks. The message here is to recreate the world and simultaneously be a part of it.

Landscape III
Landscape IV

Personally, I like Gravel the best. That's how I feel sometimes when I wake up in the morning. And Landscapes III is me when I'm having a bad hair day.
