Nissan's Gas Pedal Can Push Back

According to Nissan the "ECO Pedal" could increase fuel economy as much as 5 to 10 percent. This is assuming people will actually keep the system activated. This is the 3rd of a 3 part plan by Nissan to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions over the next few years.

The response to this system has been mixed, but for the most part the major concern is safety. Many people are wondering how hard the pedal will push back if a quick acceleration is needed. The design has potential, but I think a fuel consumption gauge is a more effective means of making people realize how much fuel they are wasting.
