New PC Fits in Your Pocket - Nokia N810 Internet Tablet:

Internet tablet mini PCs are becoming increasingly popular because of their small size and ever-growing capabilities. The Nokia N810 was released this week, and this Internet tablet PC only weighs about 8 ounces and is only 5 inches wide. The small size of an Internet tablet, such as the Nokia N810, make them a better choice for traveling professionals who don’t want to lug a laptop around on business trips.

Although small, the Nokia N810 sports a relatively speedy 400 MHz processor, 128 MB of memory, and 2 GB of internal storage. The memory can also be upgraded an additional 8 GB via memory card.

The operating system used in the Nokia N810 Internet tablet is a Maemo Linux-based OS2008 with a Mozilla-based browser. The Internet browser works just like your computer’s Internet browser but on a smaller scale. The Nokia N810 has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, which allow you to connect to the Internet wherever wireless Internet is available.

The body of the N810 is only about half of an inch thick, and it sports a nice-sized 4.13 inch touch-screen LCD display. The keyboard is hidden beneath the display, and is accessed by sliding the display upwards.

Besides being able to browse the Internet, check email, and view documents, the Nokia N810 also has the ability to function like a portable GPS device. This navigation feature does cost an additional $129.99 for 3 years of service, but it can be well worth the money if you travel a lot.

The Nokia N810 Internet tablet can be a convenient tool for people looking for a compact device which will replace their laptop, PDA, MP3 player, and GPS unit. The Nokia N810 is available now for a MRSP of $479. Not a bad price for a device that is as useful as the Nokia N810.
